More Cards!

It's so much fun when you get a chance to play.  I really needed get these done for upcoming birthdays of very dear friends.

This one was for a friend of mine at church.
This one is for a friend who live in Philly, PA so when I made this one I thought I'd made a box to put it in.  The box is not that strong but it's not being mailed so that's OK.  But it nice not to crush the flower which sits about 1" high on the card. This one is not my original design I got the creative inspiration from a lady named Christina at card-making-magic.com You really should check her out she's amazing and shares a lot of great information.  She also has a YouTube channel.

The next two are similar but neither person knows the other and in fact lives in different states so I felt it was safe.  You know how us ladies are, LOL.  I also made boxes for these to protect the flowers.
Most of the shaped elements are made using Spellbinder dies, on the last two I used a Cuttlebug folder for the background and I used purchased flowers.  I made the other flowers & foliage using Spellbinders dies.  The little bit of foliage that looks like a vine I cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  I had to size it down a bit to use it on my cards and it really cut out nicely.  I was really please that it did such a good job on such small intricate pieces.

There never a shortage of birthday to make cards for so I'm getting lots of practice.  Now, I would be too embarrassed to give some one a purchased card.

So, that's it for now, next I'm working on making my first mini album.  Hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Have a happy crafting week!

Another Set of Cards...

I'm so off schedule lately, I meant to post these Sunday or Monday, but oh well.   I was hoping for some fun time in my craft room and took a few days off but mother nature had other plans.  As I shared in my last post a big storm came through our area and many lost power including myself.  I was only out of power for about 3/days but some were out for over a week.  So, I guess I shouldn't complain.  Here are the cards I made in the time that I did have to play...
When I want to touch base with friends that live in other states or too far to see on a regular,  I try to connect with a nice card.  Emails and phone calls are nice but cards just add a special touch and are so appreciated.
This one is for a girlfriend that will be celebrating a birthday soon.  I just got this Spellbinder dressform die and I love it, I can see myself using this a lot.  As a crafter I'd been a seamstress at heart (my first love)  until I dove into papercrafting.  Sewing has been on the back burner lately but I know I've got to get back to sewing too.
One of my nephews plays basket ball for his high school, so I had to do something for him with a sports theme.  I made this one on my Silhouette Cameo.  He loved it!
Last but not least, this one is a good-bye card I made for my sister-in-law for someone leaving her place of employment.
Well that's it for now, hope to have lots more to share soon.

Have a wonderful week....

A few more Birthday Cards...

I've been meaning to post since the end of June.  Here are a few more cards I finished around the end of June.  The first two are cards my sister-in-law asked me to make for friends of her's.  It gives me good practice making cards for family on request but I've got to reserve some time for what I want  to work on.  I'm trying to learn and need personal time to play.

This one I made for my brother-in-law for his birthday, he love it.  I found a couple tutorials online for this kind of card and will try to find them so I can give props & the links.  I did alter it somewhat but the inspiration was from another crafter.  (please excuse my fingers in the shots, they were in desperate need of a manicure.)

I actually took a couple days off with the 4th of July holiday but we had a terrible storm blow through the DC metro area and I lost power, phone & cell service for 3/days just before the holiday.  So I didn't get as much done as I would have liked but I'm so grateful I got power back the day before the holiday and some of the hottest days we've had yet this summer, whew!!   I have more to post hopefully tomorrow stay tuned.

Happy Crafting!!
